South Korea: Cultural, Culinary and Natural Highlights in the Fall
October 18-28, 2026
Venture beyond the ordinary and immerse yourself in South Korea—a land where ancient temples meet neon-lit streets, where misty mountains bow to volcanic islands, and where K-Pop beats pulse alongside the meditative silence of Buddhist monasteries. This is no typical tour. This is a journey through one of East Asia’s most electrifying yet underexplored destinations, crafted specifically for conscious travelers.
Ready to explore a country that defies expectations? Let’s go.
Why South Korea?
Picture this: You’re wandering through Seoul’s labyrinthine alleyways at dawn, the scent of temple incense mingling with street food sizzling on nearby grills. By afternoon, you’re standing atop a volcanic crater, the wind whipping through your hair as you gaze across impossible landscapes. By evening? You’re belting out K-Pop anthems in a neon-soaked karaoke bar with your new travel tribe.
South Korea doesn’t just invite you to visit—it challenges you to experience, to taste, to feel. From imperial palaces hiding in plain sight among skyscrapers to coastal cliffs that have witnessed centuries of waves, this is a country that rewards the curious and the bold.
And yes, we’re doing it all plant-based. Because adventure and ethics aren’t mutually exclusive.
The Journey
Day 1: Touch Down in the Land of Morning Calm
INCHEON → SEOUL
Your Korean venture begins the moment you clear customs at Incheon Airport (ICN). Your guide greets you, and before you know it, you’re speeding toward Seoul—a megalopolis of 10 million souls where tradition and futurism collide spectacularly.
Check into your hotel (from 3 PM), then do what all great travelers do: get lost. Seoul is remarkably safe, so explore freely. Tonight, we gather for a vegan welcome feast.
Day 2: Palaces, Panoramas & Street Food Glory
SEOUL
Hit the ground running. We’re starting at Gyeongbokgung Palace for the Changing of the Guards—a ceremony steeped in royal pageantry. Then wind through Bukchon Hanok Village, where traditional Korean homes transport you centuries back in time. Lunch will be a vegan food tour at Gwangjang Market, which offers you great insights into Korean food and culinary customs.
In the afternoon, we will take a cable car to N Seoul Tower for sweeping views of Seoul, before we enjoy another delicious dinner.
Day 3: To the Edge of Two Worlds
SEOUL → DMZ
This morning gets real. We’re venturing to the DMZ—the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. Explore the 3rd Tunnel, peer into North Korea from Dora Observatory, and stand at one of the world’s most surreal borders. History isn’t just written here; it’s still being made.
(Alternative itinerary available if DMZ access is restricted).
If you do not wish to join this day trip, feel free to explore Seoul more in-depth.
Return to Seoul with the afternoon to roam around Seoul a bit more before we meet up for dinner.
Day 4: Island Bound
SEOUL → JEJU ISLAND
Trade mainland energy for island magic. A quick domestic flight delivers you to Jeju—Korea’s subtropical paradise, where volcanic landscapes meet azure waters and legends breathe through lava tubes and coastal cliffs.
Check in, then let the island rhythms slow your pulse, take a walk at the beach and enjoy the calm after a few days in the big city.
Day 5: Volcanic Wonders & Yacht Dreams
JEJU ISLAND
Sunrise Peak (Seongsan Ilchulbong) awaits—a UNESCO World Heritage volcanic crater rising dramatically from the sea. It’s steep, it’s stunning, and it’s worth every step.
Continue to Seopjikoji’s windswept coastal vistas, then chase waterfalls at Cheonjiyeon. Cap it all with a sunset yacht cruise along Jeju’s spectacular coastline (weather permitting, because even paradise has its moods).
Day 6: Tea, Temples & Hidden Beaches
JEJU ISLAND
Today we roam: Yongmeori Coast’s dragon-shaped cliffs, the serene Bomunsa Temple nestled against Sanbang Mountain, and the O’sulloc Green Tea Museum where Korea’s tea culture unfolds in elegant detail.
Stroll through Hallim Park’s botanical wonderland, then sink your toes into the soft sands of Hyeopjae Beach. Some days are meant for wandering without a care in the world.
Day 7: Busan Calling
JEJU → BUSAN
Bid farewell to island life and jet to Busan—Korea’s coastal second city where mountains tumble into the sea and the vibe is unfiltered and real.
Touch down, refuel, then pay respects at the UN Memorial Cemetery before taking in sweeping bay views from Nurimaru APEC House. Busan doesn’t whisper. It announces itself.
Day 8: Temple Life & Art in the Hills
BUSAN
Before dawn breaks fully, we’re temple-bound. Beomeosa Temple opens its doors for an authentic half-day Temple Life program—Seon meditation, traditional tea ceremony, temple food lunch. Silence. Stillness. Presence.
Later, lose yourself in Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan’s hillside art haven where every alley is a canvas and every corner tells a story. Finish at BIFF Square, the beating heart of Korea’s film scene, which also features lots of stores which offer great shopping.
Day 9: Gyeongju—The Museum Without Walls
DAY TRIP FROM BUSAN
Journey to Gyeongju, ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom, where history doesn’t sit behind glass—it surrounds you. Bulguksa Temple (UNESCO glory) and Seokguram Grotto (home to Korea’s most sublime stone Buddha) will leave you breathless.
Tonight? Let’s maybe sing some Karaoke. Because nothing bonds a travel crew quite like belting out questionable renditions of Korean pop hits.
Day 10: Until We Meet Again
BUSAN → HOME
All journeys end, but the best ones change you. Say farewell to your travel family, exchange contacts, make promises to reunite.
Or don’t leave at all. Extend your adventure deeper into Korea or hop to neighboring countries. The Korean Peninsula has only begun to reveal its secrets.
Safe travels, wanderer. Until next time.
Real Talk: What You Should Know
This is a pioneering journey. We’re among the first fully vegan tour groups in South Korea, blazing a trail where few have ventured. That means things won’t always be perfect. Plant milk varieties may be limited. Hotel breakfasts will feature non-vegan options alongside ours. We’re navigating uncharted territory together.
Come with flexibility. Come with curiosity. Come ready to embrace imperfection as part of the adventure.
Important: This trip is not suitable for travelers with soy or gluten allergies/sensitivities or anyone with a big aversion against mushrooms.
