About this trip

Travel with me to my home of Austria and Germany during one of the most magical times of the year — holiday market season! Marvel at Vienna sparkling with festive lights, sip mulled wine in Salzburg, warm up with roasted chestnuts in Innsbruck, and soak up the festive atmosphere in Munich.

With multiple markets to choose from in most cities, it can be hard to know which ones are worth visiting. I’ll help you narrow it down and discover the markets that best capture the magic of the season. And of course, we’ll keep an eye out for the best vegan-friendly food and drinks along the way — with Vienna and Munich offering plenty of options to enjoy.

So bundle up, grab a mug of something warm, and get ready for fairytale-like Christmas markets, holiday shopping, twinkling lights, and plenty of festive cheer!

Good to know

Most flights from the US arrive in Vienna early in the morning — we will meet you at the airport. For the way home, fly out of Munich, whose airport even has its very own Christmas market.

It’s December in the Alps: pack warm layers, a hat, gloves and comfortable shoes for evenings spent strolling outdoor markets.

Innsbruck’s market isn’t the most vegan-friendly, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it — and all included meals are vegan, from the welcome dinner in Vienna to the farewell dinner in Munich.

Want to stay longer in Europe? We are more than happy to help you book an extension.
