Why This Trip

Uganda, at its wildest and most intimate.

This is eight days built around the moments that make Uganda unlike anywhere else on the continent: a silverback watching you from ten feet away, a boat drifting past bathing elephants, and forest trails few travelers ever walk.

Every transfer, park fee and permit is arranged for you, all vegan meals included along the way, so all that’s left is the adventure. Below you’ll find your full day-by-day route and everything included in the trip.

Questions before you book? We’re happy to help you shape it.

North to Murchison Falls

Elephant at the Nile River, Murchison Falls

After breakfast, you’ll head north to Murchison Falls National Park — Uganda’s largest, and one of its most spectacular. The drive alone is worth it: rolling countryside, village life, and landscapes that shift by the hour.

Along the way, you’ll stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda to track endangered southern white rhinos on foot. After lunch at Kabalega Diner, you’ll arrive at your lodge overlooking the mighty Nile, ready for two days of wildlife immersion.

Today’s Plan

  • Drive to Murchison Falls NP (approx. 5–6 hrs)
  • Guided rhino tracking, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
  • Leisure & relaxation on arrival
Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Game Drive & the Falls by Boat

Leopard resting in a tree, Murchison Falls Nile crocodile basking on the riverbank Rothschild's giraffe, Murchison Falls National Park

Rise early for a morning game drive through the park’s northern sector, when wildlife is at its most active — elephants, lions, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo, and if you’re lucky, an elusive leopard draped over a branch.

After lunch back at the lodge, you’ll board a boat cruising upriver along the Nile, past pods of hippos and basking crocodiles, to the base of Murchison Falls itself — where the entire river is forced through a 7-metre gorge in a thunderous, misting cascade.

Today’s Plan

  • Morning game drive with a professional guide
  • Afternoon boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls
Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Into the Primate Capital

Today you’ll travel to Kibale Forest National Park, celebrated as the Primate Capital of East Africa. The drive winds through rolling hills, tea plantations and farmland — a scenic warm-up for what’s ahead.

Your lodge sits right on the edge of the ancient rainforest. Settle onto your private veranda, listen for distant monkey calls, and rest up for tomorrow’s chimpanzee trek.

Today’s Plan

  • Drive to Kibale National Park (approx. 6–7 hrs)
  • Leisure & relaxation on arrival
Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Chimpanzees & the Kazinga Channel

Chimpanzee in Kibale Forest Waterbuck in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll set off into Kibale Forest with expert trackers in search of chimpanzees — spending a magical hour watching them feed, groom and swing through the canopy, our closest living relatives at their most unguarded.

From there, you’ll drive on to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular safari destination, arriving in time for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel — hippos, elephants, buffalo and prolific birdlife line the shore as the sun drops low.

Today’s Plan

  • Chimpanzee habituation trek, Kibale Forest
  • Drive to Queen Elizabeth NP (approx. 3.5 hrs)
  • Boat safari on the Kazinga Channel
Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

The Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha

Tree-climbing lion in the Ishasha sector Lion in the Ishasha sector

One more early start for a game drive through Queen Elizabeth’s cool morning light, then south through the Ishasha sector — the only place in Uganda where lions climb into the fig trees and doze high above the ground. Keep your camera ready.

From there, you’ll travel through terraced hillsides and rural villages to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Settle into your lodge for the night before tomorrow’s main event.

Today’s Plan

  • Early morning game drive, Queen Elizabeth NP
  • Drive via Ishasha sector to Bwindi (approx. 2.5 hrs)
Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Gorilla Trekking Day

Mountain gorilla feeding in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Trekkers observing wildlife in Bwindi's forest

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Bwindi’s park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers on trekking etiquette and safety, before being assigned to a habituated gorilla family.

Accompanied by expert guides and trackers, you’ll push into the dense, mist-covered forest — the trek can take anywhere from a couple of hours to most of the day. Then comes the moment this whole trip has been building toward: a full hour face-to-face with a gorilla family, watching the silverback lead, and the young ones play, feed and tumble around him. Few wildlife encounters come close.

Back at the lodge, celebrate with a well-earned drink and an evening under the stars, reflecting on one of Africa’s most extraordinary experiences.

Today’s Plan

  • Ranger briefing, Bwindi park headquarters
  • Mountain gorilla trekking (half to full day)
  • Leisure & relaxation on return
Breakfast, lunch & dinner included
